The Marseille Tarot

This is the most famous tarot deck when it comes to divinatory tarot. It consists of 78 cards divided into two distinct groups: the 22 Major Arcana, which represent highly significant symbols of human nature, and the Minor Arcana, which, as in a traditional playing card deck, number 56. The difference is that, within these Minor Arcana, the clubs, diamonds, spades and hearts are replaced by four suits of 14 cards each, known as Wands, Cups, Pentacles and Swords.
